What it does
Photon is a geocoder built on OpenStreetMap data and optimised for search-as-you-type, which makes it a good fit for address autocomplete in forms. It is typo-tolerant, supports several languages and can bias results towards a location. Results are GeoJSON. The public server at photon.komoot.io is free for fair use; for heavy use you can host Photon yourself, as it is open source.
