What it does
BigDataCloud's client-side reverse geocoding API turns the user's current coordinates into a place: city or locality, region, country and continent, in the language you ask for. Call it from the browser or a mobile app after getting the position with the HTML5 Geolocation API. Without coordinates it gives a best-effort place based on the user's IP address. It returns JSON. Free, no key needed, under a fair use policy: client-side calls with the device's own location only.
