What it does
The Overpass API lets you query OpenStreetMap data: find all cafés in a city, all bus stops along a route, or every object with a certain tag in an area. Queries use the Overpass QL language (try them first on overpass-turbo.eu) and return JSON, XML or CSV. Free on the public servers with fair use; heavy users should run their own instance.
