What it does

LiveKit is an open-source platform for real-time video, audio and voice AI agents over WebRTC, for example to build group video calls or a talking AI assistant. Clients join rooms with LiveKit's SDKs; the server API (JSON over HTTP) creates rooms and access tokens. Free Build plan on LiveKit Cloud without a payment card, with 5,000 WebRTC minutes and 1,000 agent session minutes a month, or self-host the open-source server. An official MCP server lets AI agents search the LiveKit documentation.
