What it does
The Eurostat API gives the official statistics of the European Union: population, economy, prices, labour, energy, transport and more, per country and region, for example to chart unemployment across EU countries. Ask for a dataset by its code with filters in the URL and get JSON-stat, or SDMX and TSV through the SDMX API. Free, no key needed.
