What it does
The Met Collection API gives data about hundreds of thousands of objects in The Metropolitan Museum of Art: search objects, filter by department, and get titles, artists, dates, materials and images. Objects in the Met's Open Access program have public-domain (CC0) images you can use freely. Responses are JSON. Free, no key needed.
