What it does

Kagi News publishes its daily news summaries as open JSON files: kite.json lists the categories, and each category file (such as world.json or tech.json) holds the day's stories, each clustered from many sources with a summary and links to the articles. The files are plain GET requests with JSON answers and are open to browsers (CORS). Free, no key needed, for non-commercial use with attribution (CC BY-NC); commercial use needs a licence from Kagi.
