What it does

The World Bank Indicators API gives about 16,000 development indicators for every country, many going back 50 years or more: GDP, population, life expectancy, CO2 emissions, education, poverty and much more. Ask for an indicator by country and year range. Responses are JSON or XML. Free, open data, no key needed.
