What it does
The GDELT DOC 2.0 API searches worldwide online news monitored by the GDELT Project, in 65 languages machine-translated so you can search in English. Get lists of matching articles, timelines of coverage volume or tone, or image collages, for example to track how a topic is reported across countries. Results come as JSON, CSV, RSS or HTML from a simple GET URL; the default search window is the last three months. Free, no key needed; limit requests to one every five seconds.
