What it does
The Movie Database (TMDB) API gives data about movies, TV shows and people: titles, overviews, release dates, cast and crew, ratings, trailers, posters and backdrops in many languages, plus trending and upcoming lists. Responses are JSON. Free for non-commercial use with a free API key and attribution to TMDB; commercial use needs a licence.

Example request
curl
curl 'https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Inception' \
-H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY'
JavaScript
const response = await fetch("https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Inception", {
headers: {
"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY",
},
});
const data = await response.json();
console.log(data);
Python
import requests
response = requests.get(
"https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Inception",
