The Unreal Speech API converts text to natural-sounding speech, for example to voice articles, e-learning lessons or app notifications. A POST request with a small JSON body (text, voice and bitrate) to the /stream endpoint returns MP3 audio within a fraction of a second; /speech returns an MP3 file with word timestamps and /synthesisTasks handles long texts. The key goes in an Authorization: Bearer header. Free with a free API key, up to 250,000 characters per month.

Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your own key. The JavaScript works in a web page as well as in Node.js 18 or newer.
